Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 4:00AM I was walking through Wicker Park on a sunny Fall Sunday when I happened to see some folks setting up a table near the fountain. A friendly voice called out to me "Say, would you like a free crappy portrait?"
I can't tell you if it was the cheery balloons and streamers on the folding table, the blinding sunlight or my severe over-caffeination, but something told me that I needed to be a part of something that seemed so special, so unique, so... free.
I've just never seen such a crappy picture of myself. I mean, it blows that old drivers license and the 6th grade bowl haircut and retainer-wearing photos right out of the water.
They don't lie. They're free, and they're definitely crappy. And apparently I am the first. Hmm.
