Bow Ties

The brunette is CasiDee. The blond is Laura. They are best friends. They both like boys that wear glasses and bow ties. They hunt unicorns in their free time. They love to listen to old music, especially The Beatles. Laura has a crush on Buddy Holly, and CasiDee has a crush on James Dean. They have been known to wear (and rock) a mustache from time to time.

The Knitting Manny

I spent this last year in New Zealand as an au-pair, and I got to go on a few adventures. I went moosehunting down on the south-island, but never found any. I'd love to have this adventure immortalized as an epic-looking portrait, ala those kind of portraits of kings/queens and nobility--the ones telling of their epic lives. (Feel free to embellish this picture with glitter or shiny things, if you'd like.) My favorite animal is definitely a unicorn, but I aspire to own a floppy-eared goat one day (like Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame). Flamingos are also a favorite, but you can't forget about kittens. That year, I dubbed myself "The Knitting Manny" and made my fair-share of knitted items. There's lots more to me, but I don't want to overwhelm you with any more narcissism, so I'll stop there.

Chocolate and Vanilla

These are two of my best friends, Savannah (the brunette) and Holley (the blond). They both turn 16 within a week of each other, and I hope to give them a crappy portrait for their birthday. We have an inside joke about Holley being a magical unicorn named Howie, that wears one of those "Hello My Name Is" tags. Savannah is the princess out of us, and also happens to be a cheerleader. Holley's really into geeky, mythical things, and Savannah is super girly and loves pink. They're about as opposite as you can be, and their birthday party theme is "Chocolate and Vanilla."

Soft Spot for Kittens

Dustin is a 6’4” American who is obsessed with horror movies and thinks he can rap.  He’s been growing his hair and believes he actually looks like Jesus. He writes a dirty, offensive blog and comes off as a jerk, but has a soft spot for kittens, which he proudly wears on his t-shirts. 

Dana is Dustin’s fiancée and a Canadian crafty artist type who loves to make up her own hip dance moves.  She makes plush unicorns and has a secret passion to become an extreme couponer. She is obsessed with designer denim and M&Ms, and laughs at all of her own jokes.  Together, they have 3 cats and a little white dog named Bear.

Hello! My name is Natalie and the fellow in the photo with me is my husband Frank. I play roller derby with Suburbia Roller Derby under the name The Deviant Unicorn. And, oh, how I love unicorns! I am also an artist myself and I love to splatter colors all over my paintings - particularly the color red. My husband is a musician and DJ. He plays the bass guitar and synthesizers. He really likes dinosaurs and sharks. Based on our hobbies and interests, we may as well be a couple of 7-year-olds. We also have two cats. A black and white one named Napoleon and a grey tabby named Bruce.
